Member Spotlight

This month’s member spotlight for Gadsden Rotary is Tena King.

Tena is owner and operator of King's Olive Oil Company, located in downtown Gadsden, Alabama.  Prior to King's Olive Oil, she worked in higher education at The University of Alabama.  Before UA, she was Executive Director of Anniston Community Education Foundation. Other employers of interest include Project GRAD LA, Los Angeles Educational Partnership, C.I.T.Y Program and Coosa Valley Youth Services. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science, a master’s degree in Secondary Education with 18 graduate hours in Political Science, a master’s degree in Agency Counseling, all of which are from Jacksonville State University.  She completed coursework for
an Educational Doctorate in Higher Education Administration from The University of Alabama, within which she completed her conflict resolution certification. She is a trainer for Jon Schallert’s Destination Creation Course which allows her the opportunity to train business leaders in the process of turning a business, downtown, or small town into a destination place. She is also a certified John Maxwell Leadership coach/speaker.

In her community, she is active with United Way where she served as President of the Board of Directors in 2019 and 2020. She is also active with Etowah County Chamber of Commerce where she served as President of the Board of Directors in 2019 and serves as co-leader of the Education Task Force of Partnering for Prosperity. She is the Past President of Etowah C.A.R.E.S. (2021). Currently she serves on the Board of Directors for DGI, the Advisory Board for SPAN, is active with Rotary Club of Gadsden, and is a member of GSCC Margin of Excellence Committee. She has a passion for people and loves to help communities improve one person, one business, or one group at a time.
Her hobbies include spending time with her husband (TC Morgan) and their Golden Doodle, Minkah. She also loves to read, travel, and work-out.
